why so much gay content - cant be many people reading this stuff´, so why is it beeing pushed?

@bkby0087 - WRONG! I listen to at least 1 book per day, 2 depending on the length, and I have over 150 contacts on GoodReads (among other sites) that use audiobooks as well. And the content differs in this genre just as it does in ANY romance genre (Vampires/Werewolves, Historical/Contemporary, etc.) so we don’t all listen to the same thing. For instance, I had no intention of downloading this after reading the synopsis but I did anyway because I’m contrary like that. You may have made me a new fan of this author - a fan who will now buy their work (as I do quite a lot once I’ve decided I liked an audiobook enough to OWN it and get a copy of the ebook as well.)
Also, some are new and some are new releases of books published years ago…the industry for this subgenre is finally catching up to the mainstream houses in offering audiobooks.
The uploaders give the listeners choice - choice we haven’t had until relatively recently as until this year the boards have been inundated with HET romance & other genres. I didn’t bitch about the over-abundance of heaving bosoms all over the boards (or other genres I have no interest in at all - which admittedly is few because I can’t think of a genre doesn’t appeal to me in some way if the author is talented enough)…so you can do what I did: Ignore the uploads that don’t appeal to you and stop policing what other people read/listen to.

Thanks ithwx for the hard work you’ve been doing to provide these titles and this genre. While I do listen and read other categories, this is my primary light reading/listening interest. Because of your efforts I have been exposed to many new authors and sub-genres that I have gone on to support by purchasing other works by authors that grabbed my interest. I can not believe how in the past year my library has expanded and the hours of enjoyment I have been afforded while taking care of my bed-ridden father. Keep up the great work and my best wishes to you.
And thank you to bugchicklv for speaking up as eloquently as you did. I second your opinion and I am sure there are many others out there who appreciate these posts.

No worries! I’m almost done posting my entire backlog of books.
And, honestly, I’m glad that you’ve never known what it’s like to have practically no books that represent you or have characters you can identify with.
I post all this stuff for people like me who grew up who had practically nothing. You know I used to spend whole afternoons (like hours upon hours) looking in the public library for *any* book that had gay people in it? Only to find that most of it was literary type stuff where the men frequently got AIDS or gay bashed or whatever. Good stuff but depressing. In all that time I only found like two books that could be considered more lighthearted, romance types of books.
I would’ve given *anything* for a gay fantasy or sci-fi book when I was a teen. But there was basically nothing out there.
I’ve been posting so much because it is such a blessing to have *choice*. Half the stuff I post, I might never listen to and doesn’t really interest me.
May you always find books to enjoy.
