There are precisely three *sexes*, @Robbie22. Gender is a psychological/social concept on a spectrum. Maybe you should read the book and stop foraging the misinformation forums you currently peddle.
On the plus side for you, if your gender identity and your biological sex align (as it does in most people), you won’t have the trials and tribulation that those where that is not the case live with everyday. And if your sexual orientation is hetero and you are not female, there are literally zero laws being passed in the U.S. right now that would infringe on your ability to exist. That also cannot be said about those who are not. But thank you for your incorrect opinion anyway.

Love it or hate it, this book is a foundational classic in gender, literature, and affect theory. A necessary read if you’re in those fields.

I would urge people to think critically about her thesis when they’re done listening. Because there is a very, very good response to her from Joan Copjek called Read My Desire: Lacan Against The Historicists which I urge all of you to read.
